The Importance of the F C Region in Antibodies
An explosion of research has been looking at the F C portion. It can bind receptors on cells like monocytes, neutrophils, and induce things like phagocytosis cellular cytotoxicity or net ptosis. And so for a long time, I don't think it was always the case that we thought about the F C region as a way to prevent or block infection or be a correlative vaccine protection. But now we're really looking at this molecule as both sides.
