How Does Bright Light Exposure Regulate Stress?

In the evening when we have that extended period of light, it's sending a wrong signal to the brain saying this might be part of the day. That also doesn't allow melatonin level to build up. And ultimately we go to sleep and we wake up either sleepy or we wake up very late into the day. So our body gets confused completely when it's day or when it's night.
