The Risk of Device Extraction in a Patient Who's Back to Rema
The 1% risk of serious complication when removing a device that is much higher than I thought. The thing that increases the risk of the device extraction when it's transvenous is that these leads in the body actually fibros to the veins and to the heart. When you pull them out, you literally could lacerate or tear the superior vena cava, the right atrium, the right ventricle, the IVC we sometimes perforate. That definitely sounds like a high bleeding risk. Yeah, I feel like I can't get out the image of fibros vessels and someone trying to take out leads from it.
