Are There Any Incentives to Stop People From Being Over Confident?

People who are over confident are more likely to have rosy memories. They're also selective about what they remember from past. So i'm curious whether this implies anything about how we can come up incentives to stop people from being so over confident in cases where it's harmful. Adarethere any kind of huristics, or like rules of thumb that you use in your own case to kind of pick up and when yu're being over confident and tamper that?
