Dworkin wants that there is inherent in positivism, this notion of simplicity. He feels like if we're going to acknowledge that there is a very hazy, complicated social edifice surrounding this, why pretend that that is a foundationalist? "Why talk about that chain as if it had a stopping point?" he asks.
