The Illusion of Chance Humanism
There's a deep secular humanism expressed in that book through the main character, Ivan, who's an atheist. And your book is obviously very different, but there is this humanist spirit driving it because it's urging us to reengage with these questions about who we are and what we need to flourish. The illusion is to think that giving ourselves over to technology is a way to avoid these questions, but it isn't Because if we live by and through our machines, then the values of those machines become our values or the distinction becomes blurry. We should be fighting like hell to resist that and to keep that distinction alive.
