The vagus nerve is our 10th cranial nerve. When you activate that, it's the part of our body which we cannot deliberately activate like thinking about it. So we will have to do some kind of behavioral things like splashing water to our face or sub-bunching and cold water. That's going to do the trick. And you can also do other things like humming or there are different things that science has actually shown can activate the vagus nerve. The vagu nerve is super good to activate because it activates the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the wrist and digest part of our autonomous nervous system. It switches from fight and flight mode to mental balance
Dr. Susanna Søberg is a PhD graduate from the University of Copenhagen, specializes in studying the effects of intentional exposure to cold and heat on human physiology, particularly metabolism. Her work explores how deliberate cold protocols can enhance glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and neurotransmitter release, contributing to improved energy, mood, and focus.
