The Importance of Pilot Trials
A pilot study showed that intubation rate was higher for high flow nasal cannula patients compared to CPAP but the quality of evidence was very low. The imperative for doing a trial was not in doubt at all when we embarked upon the journey of trying to do the trial. So I'm going to hand over to Paul Mouncy from Icknock to talk about the methods and the trial design and then I'll come back to show you the results.
