There were a lot of animals even counter especially early on like emus and kestrels. You know, again to make sure that we were creating something that didn't step on anybody else's intellectual property too much. John Lane was the guy who did the IBM PC version so he was the one who took it from Unix to being a commercial product. He really kind of redid all of the monsters at that point.
