How Cholesterol Impacts Hormones
The liver breaks down excess cholesterol into bile salts, which are excreted in our bile. Cholesterol is also found in gallstones and bone marrow. We use cholesterol as the precursor to steroid hormones and like our sex hormones. From there, enzymes convert it to progesterone or DHA; pregnant alone can be a parent hormone.
