Deep Brain Stimulation Is Used to Treat Parkinson's Disease
Deep brain stimulation is a form of surgery where the neural surgeons implant an elec electrode into the brain. When this stimulation is turned on through a little battery that the patientis having under his skin then the symptoms disappear, such as tremor or rigidityd and the movement become much more fluid. This is a technique that has been invented linow 30 years ago, and as is currently used in more than 200 thousand patients world wide. And it is one of the few interventions that are approved to change circuit function in humans.
