Stimulus Control Strategy
The first strategy is not doing things in the bed bedroom and around bedtime that are not related to sleep. We overemphasize sleep duration, so only go to bed when you're physiologically ready for sleep. Only physically get out of bed even if it's 20 minutes or more that you're unable to fall asleep because we don't want those associations to form. If you wake up in the middle of the night with trouble getting back to sleep, just lay there thinking about the fact that you can'tSleep until 2020? That sounds counterintuitive, but I'm really enjoying this. No, keep going. Awesome.
