"I just needed do something to be I wanted to be the dad that my father was for us," he said. "My mother raised me with compassion and showed us what she had and what she's created" He says his parents didn't want him in the military, but joined because they felt like it would bring them all together. The rapper is currently serving a two-year tour of duty at Camp Pendleton near San Diego as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
