In the book, I talk about the three hours of avoidance, react, retreat, and remain. What makes it avoidance in terms of psychological avoidance and a problem versus not? And it's really the function of what you're doing or not doing. An oat function of responding fast is to make myself feel better. If the function is to just bring this comfort down, that is avoidance. For my colleagues, totally makes sense; for me, it's got me in a lot of trouble.
