The Importance of Tracking Resistance Training

We don't have any data showing that that level of tracking offers any benefit to just making sure you're in the right ballpark as far as reps and rep cadence goes obviously without any extremes. That's why to me, standardization and tracking it super precisely is more of a concern as far as training hygiene is concerned and tracking over the long term. But there's other ways of tracking progress anyways. So it's not like just because it's one variable is slightly worse. And certainly from my own personal experience, when I cut out the shortened part of the lift, like for example, the leg press will have you get fewer repetitions.
