Cluster sets are one of the main things I'll use for pushups. It's very low stress in the central nervous system. Pushups are such a low risk exercise. Like worse comes to worse, you just flop on the ground, no big deal. The effectiveness of this intensity technique on a pushup is just outrageous. Cluster sets are great for every body as well, but you have to be more particular and pay attention to your current level of fitness.
