David Cameron's Modernization Project

If I was Labour, David Davis would be the person I would be frightened of if there was going to be an election in the next year or so. He's often compared to Alan Johnson and he does seem to speak to those parts of the country that the entire political establishment has been struggling to reach. So is there a way in which the Tory Party, which is an election winning machine, will come to its senses and see that Davis is a better bet than Johnson?
