The Lower Esophageal Sphincter

The stomach is a muscular hollow organ which is found in the GI tract. It's located between the esophagus and the small intestine. The purpose of the stomach as we also know is to store food until it can be processed by thesmall intestine. And this is the general process by which food or partly digested food is moved through the entire GI tract. We'll meet some other sphincters as we move into the stomach.
