More workplace autonomy can help prevent burn out, no matter what you do for a living. Autonomy at work basically comes down to how much freedom you have to do your job within basic guide lines. This has been shown to improve job satisfaction, boost employee engagement and increase retention. Supporting medical workers and caring for the carers should be a long term top priority for all of us. After all, their health affects everyone else's too.
