The Evolution of Heuristics in Computer Science

I consider my own program on fast and frugally heuristics and ecological rationality as a continuation of Simon's. The term fast and through the heuristic is a term that we introduced in order to make clear that we are talking about strategies people use. In a world of uncertainty, it often happens that less is more. That means if you use less data or less computation, you get better predictions or better decisions. And this is why a world of Uncertainty is different from a world of risk.
