Is There an Opposite to Self Compassion?

Compassion is an increase in positive behaviour, like being kind to yourself. It's a decrease in things like criticism or feeling isolated from others. And so both change simultaneously. We live with ourselves twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. If we have that negative view of ourselves, if we talk to ourselves in a really harsh way, then we're still activating the stress response - not against e physical threat, but almost against our con tof who we are himself.
