In psychology, reasoning very simply is coming up with reasons for what you think feel and believe. We live a life based off of internal narratives that are in themselves justifications and rationalizations For our conclusions and our decisions and our goals and so on. So we're incredibly motivated reasoners. And knowing that is important when it comes to persuasion because often if you're trying to just dump a bunch of facts on people, they can pull up plenty of facts that don't support their position. It's not going to go in the same direction as us thinking about an issue or something like that.
