The Zone of Proximal Development
The zone of proximal development is a concept that gets used a lot in education especially. It means here are things that I can do given the right context given the right support and then beyond that is stuff that I can't do doesn't matter what level of support I'm getting or not. So we're aiming for that middle level where it's difficult it's uncomfortable but it is doable given the support that you have access to right now so that you can work on that. And slowly that circle kind of expands right those things that were just outside start to come inside and you keep moving out from there.
