How Human Social Order Comes to Be
It's a mistake to assume that there was a chaotic social state upon which a rational order was imposed as a consequence of rational action. It's much more reasonable to presuppose that the order emerged naturally over lengthy periods of time, and then was interpreted and codified in a secondary manner. And so when i'm trying to line for you, in large part is the processes by which that order comes to be. People and even animals communicate in a way that makes their motivation and emotional needs known to one another.
