Kefir is great for people who are dairy intolerant because it's got only one percent lactose. They actually can help to restore the gut itself and your intestinal tract. A relative of mine drinks a smoothie of kefir with blueberries and peanut butter every morning so she gets her protein, she gets her antioxidants from the blueberries and she gets the benefits of the kefir. When you're supporting your gut you're going to see that in your skin as well.
