The Effects of IV Antibiotics on Treatment Failure

There was no difference in treatment failure between patients who received less than five days versus five days or more of appropriate IV therapy before stepping down to an oral agent. And so I don't think we really know the answer to the question based on the data that we currently have. It makes me a little bit more leery about, you know, earlier switches to P-O beta lactams. Jesse: Can we still use seven days based on some of the nice data coming out around shorter durations of therapy? Or does it need to be longer if we switch earlier?"
