How to Deal With Anxiety

The way consciousness works, it can only focus on one thing at a time. The old rubber band on the wrist technique where you give yourself a little sting and pain can kind of tilt you out of your normal psychological state. I have a four step procedure I use for people who have moderate to severe anxiety. If they have mild anxiety, then directing your attention away from it can work. We call that breaking state, which is breaking a negative psychological state to a neutral or even a positive state. It's such an incredibly interesting subject. Just bringing it back to golf and some of the issues that people have.
