It's easy to reason that, you know, I've done all of this work and it has resulted in this fitness. Why would I step off right now? And then especially looking back on rest weeks when you are fully chilling, fully resting and coming back and doing really hard workouts after that and how horrible it feels. It makes no sense in our minds that like doing less is somehow going to make us do more on race day, right? Like that doesn't make sense. This time off will pay dividends later on. But it's also important to remember that a taper isn't time off. A lot of athletes miss, they'll go too hard and then they'll skip one
