Priming Phenomena

The world makes much less sense than you think. The coherence mostly comes from the way your mind works. Priming phenomena arise in system one, and you have no conscious access to them. A purely symbolic reminder of being watched prodded people into improved behavior. Do you now believe that you would also fall into the same pattern? Some years ago, the psychologist timothy wilson wrote a book with the avocative title, strangers to ourselves. They were primed to find flaws, and this is exactly what they found. His system one constructed a story, and his system too believed it. I made myself smile, and i'm actually feeling better.
