"I became very practical very fast because, you know, there wasn't anything to fall back on at that point," he says. "My friend who was a professional skateboarder was making $2,000 a month and all I did was play video games." He recalls feeling kind of Henry Rollins about life: lift, weight, study. After two quarters, he asked his dad if he wanted him to go to the school up in Washington - which is a journalism school.
