The sleep gut connection is something that is also really profound. Serotonin, which many people know as a feel good hormone, is made primarily in our gut about somewhere between 70 and 90%. If your serotonin is off, your melatonin is going to be off and your sleep will be affected. Less than four hours of sleep correlates to a 7% drop in critical immune cells the next day. It's the reason why I'm not taking the red eye back tomorrow.
