The Psychological Effects of Compulsive Giving
Giver may create unrealistic expectations of the value that others will place on their giving actions. This type of giving can lead to scorekeeping in relationships, and those people may never be diligent enough as to receive the proportion of how much is given. And there also may be compulsive giving that is driven by low self-esteem. You know, these types of giving can endanger and engender and create resentment, anger, disappointment, guilt to both the giver and the getter.
