Socrates and the Cave in the Republic

The Socratic hero is this wise person who sacrifices himself to go back into the darkness and lift people out. This is caliocles image here of the strong person who does not care about others, but is enslaved by those people that Socrates would say are in the cave. Such a justice public man I suppose appear ridiculous when they take part in your discussions and arguments, which gorgias and polis have appeared rather ridiculous.
