You're inherently not fueling certain things that need fuel. Having a more sustainable approach will allow you to fuel your muscles and be able to still be in a calorie deficit to lose fat, but also be able to at least somewhat enjoy the process. The sensation itself is one of the most complex things we don't even completely understand all the time.
