The Role of Posture in Neck Pain
There's a textbook ideal posture which is to have the spine and in a neutral position because then you get adequate load sharing between the elements of the vertebral column. ergonomics is quite important for people with office work so they can be sitting in a good chair supported in a basically neutral upright posture. How much posture plays in a pain syndrome is probably a different question and their posture doesn't necessarily play a role in their pain syndrome. The most important thing is to understand whether it does change your pain or change your range of motion by putting them in a neutral posture compared to their normal sitting posture.
