I really enjoy kind of crafting what the next steps will look like but I don't enjoy that at all in chess. In roguelikes it's kind of a special flavour which in general roguelikes exercise other kind of difficulty skills or something. How you sort of lace your game with difficulty is a very important design consideration. So how you have to do that cup of tea moment every turn because difficulty pacing is a really important element and every roguelike is different in this.
