What Are the Cognitive Load Effects?
Three main effects of cognitive load are redundancy, intent and expert reversal. Intention effect is much more so about the presentation of information. Expert reversal affects how experts learn differently to novices. Novices learn better from explicit or direct instruction because they don't have their own framework for drawing upon.
