Is It Common for Athletes to Do Over Speed Training?

The fastest day run would be around more or less 5k race pace. Some sessions for example you have hill running for example they don't run at higher speeds but i think that the work that they do are pretty high high maybe 5,000 meter or even faster loads even there. There are kind of components in the training that is also triggering kind of an over over speed and i know that that they do these kind of strikes  in this period we're running with spikes doing 100 meters or 200 meters They just do it to be up in kind of over speeds and to kind of prevent the injuries. It's something with running and over speed that is you can't avoid that for too
