The company doesn't break out how much of their sales are done online versus placed within the store. The stores are very clearly driving the book purchases, and they're driving the online purchases. I don't think it can be understated how problematic promotions can be to a retail business. When you put an item on sale, you're habituating a consumer to defer purchases until that item goes on sale.
