DBT - Mindfulness, Behaviorism, and Dialectics

In DBT, there are three main concepts. There's the idea of behaviorism, mindfulness, and then dialectics. And so when you have a problem, you can approach it using mindfulness. So let's say you're depressed. You might just notice or observe that depression,. Just kind of sit there, be with your depression, get to know your depression. That's one approach. Sometimes just a simple act of doing that can change your relationship to the depression. It changes your relationship to it because you're not fighting it and pushing it away anymore. Which often causes a lot more suffering.
