When I highlighted both aspects, you know, the image, the fantasy would come and I would note contact pleasant. Somehow what it did was to depersonalize that pleasant feeling. Now we can do the same thing with unpleasant feelings as well. Feeling comes out of contact. Feeling arises. By making that simple double note, it was just like hitting the right acupuncture point. So I had no contact feeling and the whole thing would disappear. Sometimes we have to play a little bit and really see what do we need in terms of our mindfulness to capture more of the totality of what is going on.
