The Different Types of Funding for Startups

I often see it as one of the first hires on a go to exam. In terms of funding, this is a question I can probably Google but since you hear when you say series A, series B, series zero, like a number like series A, you get, I don't know, 5k or series B, you get a million dollars. Is there a number that are attached or is just the first and the second and the third funding? It's changed a lot over the past couple years.
