Gerard says dating apps in general are usually just a tough business. When Bay was around, people hadn't really warmed up to the idea of paying for a dating app. Gerard says if he were to create Bay all over, he would have made a paid tier because nowadays users are much more comfortable paying for dating apps. He still thinks Bay could be a profitable business.
