Dogmatism Is Not Driven by Analytic Left Brain Logic
To be dogmatic is to wholeheartedly embrace a belief system as true with a capital T. To say it differently, the fragmentation in your traumatized brain is soothes by certainty. Dogmatism is not driven by analytic left brain logical thinking. It's driven by a fragmented chaotic right brain that needs certainty to calm itself down. No one arrives at their theological and political beliefs solely by objectively weighing the merits of various theological or political positions. You come to your theological and political viewpoints in response to your story.
