There are a couple of studies that show substantial long-term benefits of saunas. Most all the research has been done in traditional sauna, not as much research on infrared ones. A study looked at heart disease and followed people for 20 years. If you were in there 10 to 90 minutes, which is fairly typical, there was a 50% reduction in risk of sudden death.
