There's no general rule for how a team should make decision, it's going to depend on the situation and the context. I don't like the idea of consensus decisions in this kind of a dangerous environment. Having votes that are anonymous is important. And people want to have something that everybody can agree with.

My guest today is celebrated research psychologist Gary Klein who has spent nearly 50 years studying how and why people make the decisions they do.
