The Inaction Regret

Daniel: Which regret is trickier? The step not taken, or the step you took that didn't go well? It depends. But i think what you see and going back to age here a little bit, is what really sticks with people as thi is the is the inaction regret. In our twenties or so, people tend to have roughly the same numbers of regrets of action, what i did, and regrets of inaction, what i didn't do. As we age, it's about two to one ratio of inaction regrets over over action regrets. Action regrets are often asier to resolve. And in action regrets, they linger with you.
