How to Mic a Kick Drum

I have six channels of API to get it sound normal. I just keep EQing until it sounds like a normal mic to me, but it's still not normal. It's so cool because in the beginning, it's a really cheap way to mic a drum. If you look at your mastering chain, if it was real gear, it would be like 50 grand worth of shit on the other hand. That's kind of the stuff that I like a lot of the times. And also if you're using real gear,. every cable has to be quiet. Every channel has to be... The patch bay has to really work, you know.
