Mitophagy and Urolithin A
The mitochondria are the little energy producing factories inside every single one of your cells. When they are not at optimal function, when they are burning energy in a dirty fashion, they actually speed cellular aging. Urolithin A is an interesting compound because it is a postbiotic. It comes from naturally occurs in nature from this bacteria in our gut that breaks down the polyphenols from primarily foods like pomegranates, strawberries, etc. And it can increase mitophagy in mitochondria. Mitophagy is the ability for mitochondria to repair and regenerate and recycle their proteins.
