"There is no amount of negative self talk that is going to change all of the terrible decisions I have made in my life up to this point," says David Perry. "I think it's really important to think about the realism of what habits and what goals we might have for yourself, right? And like you said, it's incompatible to think that, well, I'm going to suddenly start getting up an hour earlier and going for a run before work when that is clearly not part of my standard operating procedure."
